The way out
If you're looking for a torch, a map or a guidebook that will take you to where you want to be in life.
I held a few events recently (both on- and off-line) as I’ll be doing some more in-depth workshops over the next few months.
These workshops are a space for connecting and letting go, for removing some stagnant energy that may be holding us back, for putting us back in our power in order to find some flow in our lives. I truly believe that life can be a lot easier than we allow it to be, but it does take some reprogramming to get there.
One attendee of an on-line workshop I gave a few weeks ago asked me how I got here, to this side of my life.
‘But how can I make it through? I listen to lots of advice but I still wonder, how can I get there? How did you do it?’
What struck me in that moment was how acutely I remember that feeling, of looking at people who appear to be on top of life, who have both happiness and success after surviving hard times. I envied them. I felt desperate to know their secret. How did they do it? Was there a step-by-step guide?
Of course, there are many manuals. Countless books have been written by people who have made the journey out of the darkness, and into a life that feels good. They write about the road they took in order to show others a way out, while there’s also so much guidance available from therapists, coaches, psychologists and healers.
When I was faced with this question, I realised that I have so many answers, suggestions and advice. Even though I still consider myself to be figuring-it-out, with plenty to learn, I realised that I could write you a manual of how I’ve come this far. I could draw you a map of how I went from a to b.
But at the same time, I don’t have the answers at all, and I don’t believe anyone does.
It’s like being on a path in the dark, and you keep looking for a torch or for someone to show you the way. You know that many before you have been in the same place and that they made it out, so why can’t you? Why was it so easy for them, so hard for you?
Many of them will hand you their map, they’ll tell you to take this track or that. They will point you in a direction, and swear to you that that’s the right way to go if you want to get out. ‘It worked for me! It worked for others! Go that way!’
You might study all of their maps and handbooks, you might go down some of the roads they show you, but ultimately, the only way you’ll really get out is to forge your own path.
All of the therapy, the books, they are of course important, and they will help. But they are just that: help, guidance.
The real work, that comes from within you.
You will light the torch for yourself, you will cut through the undergrowth.
The lessons provided by others add to your knowledge. However, you’ll finally be set free, not by following a step-by-step guide, but by combining your own experience with the tools others have given you, and you’ll find what truly works for you, how you can change your life.
When that time comes, you’ll be so glad that you tried many paths, sampled all of the advice, but ultimately, you built the way for yourself.
Then one day, out of the blue, someone will look at you and ask, ‘But how did you do it? How can I do it?’, and you’ll smile. You’ll realise just how far you’ve come, and you’ll offer them some guidance, but you won’t be able give them a precise answer, because your way out won’t be theirs.
And anyway, you’ll know that they already have all the answers they need buried within them, they just haven’t uncovered them yet.
If you’d like to be notified about upcoming workshops and events, reply to this email and let me know so that I can be sure to inform you first.
Next week, I will finally begin to unveil my new collection, ‘Soul Signs’, and I’ll be able to share more details about the project and how you can work with me. I will have maximum 5 spots available before 2023 if you would like your own Soul Sign.
Thanks so much for reading, don’t hesitate to respond/comment, get in touch, or forward to a friend.
Wishing you all a lovely week,
Tamzin xx
