Thank you Rose! Do you have any favourite ways to go gently at this time of year? Or for that matter, at ANY time!

I guess the first thing that comes to mind,is I listen to my body......I ask it when it’s ready to wake.....to move.......to take steps

I no longer like to go by some conditioned timeline, unless of course ,there is an appointment that has time put to it.

After a stint of homelessness,I see the world different to only two years ago. It’s different when you don’t have walls and a roof, and a front door to close behind you, after a day in the chaos, where you can close it,drop your bags, take your bra off and flop.

We are in a state of constant repair, and just as you start to smooth out some gnarly creases, and breath deep and slow, like you may be safe enough to rev your juices,

Bang 💥.....that unexpected waves keeps you under a little longer.

All catches up at some point.

So I go slow enough now.....for all else to weave itself in and out of the new playground Ive created for myself. ❤️‍🩹⭐️🌹🕯️🙏🏾📿🫒🩸💦✌🏾

That's beautiful Rose and thank you so much for sharing. I agree that listening to the body is key, even seemingly simple things like no longer living by an early alarm clock can make a huge difference. I can imagine what an impact a stint of homelessness had, the luxury and privilege of shutting the world out is something we don't always have, and something many of us may never have... As you say, constant repairs and unexpected waves, and going slowly in between to care for ourselves as much as possible.

I’ve been getting The Fool card a lot in my tarot meditations lately which is definitely reminding me to be open to the magic of the unexpected. Honestly, last year I held in so tightly and rigidly to my own expectations, choosing to shift my perspective this year feels entirely liberating!

Thank you for the reminder to go gently and Happy New Year!

This is so interesting to me as with the oracle deck I'm using, I keep pulling rose quartz and olive tree, which is all about compassion and being open to receiving love. Finding nuanced meaning each time it's appeared...

That's so beautiful! I wrote a post ages ago about receiving over on Instagram, when I realised how spectacularly bad I was at it. I had to really make myself uncomfortable and accept kind offers and now I'm so much better at receiving than I once was. The funny thing was, it took this huge effort for me to learn to receive from some loving friends, who I then realised later also couldn't receive themselves if I reciprocated those kind offers! Now, after some work on it, they're much better thankfully. I'd love to know, how are you opening new ways of receiving that love? Any practices that help? I find giving myself timeout to take a hot bath and give myself a massage is a favourite :)

OOH that's so interesting. How are you finding the process of letting go of that rigidity and tension? It's so much easier said than done, right?! I'll be so curious to see how things unfold for you with that increased sense of liberation and spaciousness. Also, I'd love to hear some of your creative plans for this year :)

Im finding it really fun and exciting, honestly! Though I’m a bit impatient to know “how it all works out” haha! I’m just trying to allow space for new ideas and processes and ways to come through.

Creatively, I hope to do more podcasting, launch another year of Creative Contemplation with an upgrade, and start hosting more frequent workshops. I just started taking this nature journaling class that I LOVE and think would be so fun to do here on Substack too.

What about you? What are you calling in this year?

Oh nature journaling? Sounds fascinating, I'd love to see how that comes into your substack! Also if you need podcast guests, I'd love to come on. Connecting with people that way I think is one of the best we have on offer.

For me, I have a lot of big personal shifts and changes coming up so I'm hoping to do my best to stay calm throughout it all, and to keep my expectations on myself a lower than usual. If I find myself too busy to create and work as much as I'd like, I'll be very gentle with myself about it, as I know that the season for that will come after things settle again.

That's beautiful! Embracing the ebb and flow of life and giving others permission to do the same. Gentle perseverance is a phrase I heard last year that I try to come back to daily.

Gentle perseverance -- I love that. Very important to remember for those of us who are maybe not so good at hustle-hustle-hustle culture, working round the clock etc. We may not be killing ourselves to make everything work, but we haven't given up either. We're gently persevering.

This is wonderful Tamzin! In my presentation about change this week I said this exact thing, I feel the reason we don’t shift the way we want to is because we don’t allow space in our routine for expansion. Both literal, emotional and spiritual space. We carry on as before but expect things to change anyway. Softening into space and possibility may create an allowing.

Exactly! I love how you've summarised it. How do you ensure that you have space in your routine? Is it simply scheduling in free time? I love your use of the work possibility -- I think we so easily forget that there is actually so much POSSIBILITY in our lives.

I love this reminder to stay open to magic in the in-between spaces Tamzin. I haven’t formally written down my intentions yet though I have things that keep coming into view and so rather than worrying that I don’t have things figured out I think I will focus on the space instead xx

So lovely to see you here, Lyndsay, thank you for your comment! Definitely focus on that space, magic, possibility for now and if those things keep coming into view then I'm sure that's for a reason too. They'll get clearer as you go and materialize I'm sure.

Thank you for your words. Getting closer for sure, I think I have three complementary words as guiding lights and a handful of big dreams coming into view 💭 love to you xx

That's so beautifully put Lyndsay - a handful of big dreams coming into view! That should be a quote... just lovely!
